Camsur beats Taguig at home in NBL Chairmans' Cup

CAMSUR Express captured a key win in their National Basketball League-Pilipinas Chairman’s Cup campaign as they beat Taguig Generals, 99-88, on Friday in their homecourt at the Fuerte Sports Complex in Pili, Camarines Sur.

Fredson Hermonio had 26 points, while Verman Magpantay had 22 points as the Express improved to a 3-2 win-loss card, while also dealing the Generals their first loss of the conference after five games.

Camsur will look to sweep its weekend games at home when it battles Muntinlupa Chiefs on Sunday, 7 p.m.

The Express pulled away in the fourth with a 10-0 start after being in a 67-67 deadlock, even leading by as many as 16 in the contest.

Dan Natividad had 19 points to lead Taguig.

In the first game, Tatak Gel Binan routed Muntinlupa Chiefs, 124-83, to raise their win-loss mark to 4-2.

Ronnoel Turingan had 21 points and seven rebounds, as Allen Papa and Nikko Aguilar chipped in 13 markers for Tatak Gel.

Crispin Barnedo had 29 points and 11 rebounds but the Chiefs dropped to 1-4.
