Scott Scheffler’s competitors finally found something that can slow him down: nightfall.

Scheffler’s pursuit of his fourth PGA Tour win in five starts, at the RBC Heritage, was halted by darkness at 7:45 p.m. Sunday, after a weather stoppage had interrupted play earlier in the day. Scheffler, who is at 18 under for the week, has a three-shot lead with just three holes to play; his three closest pursuers still on the course, at 15 under, are Sahith Theegala (thru 15); Patrick Cantlay (thru 17); and J.T. Poston (thru 17).
