Love Island 2024: What is Joey Essex's net worth?

6 Jun 2024

Joey Essex made reality TV history earlier this week, when he entered the Love Island villa on Monday night (3rd June) as the first celebrity bombshell, but while he may be competing for the Islanders' hearts and looking for a future wife, he doesn't exactly need to be stressing over the £50k prize fund, as his net worth is pretty impressive.

With over a decade on our TV screens, various brand deals and his own clothing line, Joey has reportedly become one of the richest UK reality stars. So what exactly is his net worth? Here's what you need to know.

How much has Joey Essex made from reality TV?

Joey Essex first appeared on screens over a decade ago with his role on The Only Way is Essex in 2011. He starred on the show for two years, in which time he became engaged to Sam Faiers (they subsequently broke up shortly after) and coined his own catch phrase 'reem'.

Since leaving TOWIE in 2013, Joey has been busy for the last 11 years starring on nearly every reality show going including, but not limited to, Splash!, I'm a Celebrity, The Jump, Celebs Go Dating, Five Star Hotel, Celebrity Masterchef, Dancing on Ice and I'm a Celebrity Australia.

Over the years Joey has amassed a small fortune from his reality show career, and was reportedly paid £60,000 to appear on I'm a Celebrity in 2013. And then nine years later he was paid £211,000 to appear on the Australian version of the series in 2022.

How much has Joey made from brand deals?

Aside from his reality TV career, Joey will also have brought in some major money from the brand deals he's done over the years.

Since beginning his career in 2011, he's done adverts with McDonald's, Volvic, and Batchelors Cup-a-Soup.

What other projects has Joey worked on?

Over the years Joey has also developed a number of other projects on the side. He launched a hair product line in 2013, of course called Joey Essex: D'Reem Hair. The same year he opened his store Fusey in Essex and it ran for three years. He's also released an album, a clothing line and two fragrances.

In 2021 Joey did a very TV different programme that we're used to seeing from him. He worked with the BBC on a documentary titled Joey Essex: Grief and Me where he explored his grief following his mother's death when he was 10 years old. He's also an ambassador for the charity Child Bereavement UK.

How much has Joey made from property?

In 2014 Joey bought his first home, a property worth £1.4million, which he's lived in ever since.

Following a break in in 2022, Joey has reportedly considered moving away from the UK and setting up a base in Dubai.

So, what's Joey's total net worth?

Ok, so with all his TV work, projects and property, Joey is estimated to have a net worth of around £8million. If he does win Love Island, the £50k will be a drop in the ocean where he's concerned.

Love Island continues tonight on ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm
