The inaugural NSW Community Cup is in full swing, with six of the eight Round of 16 fixtures having taken place over the weekend.

See how our first six quarter-finalists took a step closer to T20 glory:

The Entrance Cricket Club v Cudgen Cricket Club at Andrews Park, Wauchope

An opening partnership of 115 runs from Simon Keen (85) and Jake Hardy (53) put The Entrance on top early. Keen, a former NSW, Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers representative, rewound the clock. His Player of the Match performance included 85 runs (46 balls, seven 4s and five 6s). Cudgen’s James Julius (3-26) would temporarily stem the flow of runs, snaring three quick wickets, though that didn’t hinder The Entrance, who soared to a defendable total of 6/170 from their 20 overs. Dylan Bennett’s (3-19) three-wicket-haul would prevent any opportunity of a successful Cudgen run-chase, as The Entrance ran out victors by a margin of 45 runs.

The Entrance CC 6/170 (S Keen 85, J Hardy 53, J Julius 3-26) def Cudgen CC 10/125 (J Wilson 43, D Bennett 3-19)

Debono dispatched seven 4s and seven 6s to elevate Wollongong to 5/201 from their 20 overs. It was one-way traffic for the visiting side, who ripped through the Georges River roster to claim a 113-run win. Luke Day (4-7) and Kyle Jarrett (3-12) were the pick of the Wollongong bowlers.

Maheswaran (3-14) produced the best figures for Roseville. Lenehan (26) would find the boundary five times towards the pointy end of the Roseville run-chase, but a pair of wickets to Scott Griffin, Brody Collier and Adam West ensured Berowra’s bowling unit successfully defended their total.

David Sirr (57) kickstarted the Cammeray chase, racing to a half-century, though he was unsupported by his teammates, as his side fell 24 runs shy of their target. Tough to pick the Player of the Match with Qaiser (3-21) and Shan (3-33) also both producing with ball in hand.
