The Wellington Phoenix have ended Melbourne Victory’s unbeaten start to the men’s A-League season, beating them 1-0 at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium.
Striker Kosta Barbarouses scored the winner against his former club in the 82nd minute after a perfectly weighted pass from Marco Rojas.

The win took the Phoenix to the top of the table, though Macarthur’s game against Auckland FC was due to start at the same stadium less than an hour later, giving Auckland FC the chance to claim first place.
