The Wellington Phoenix have lost their opening game of the new women’s A-League season, losing 4-2 to Western United in Melbourne.
The Phoenix took an early lead at Ironbark Fields but then conceded four goals in a 23-minute spell to go into half-time trailing 4-1.
An Emma Main penalty restored some second-half pride for the Nix.
