Love is a many-splendored thing, especially when you’re gawking at it from the outside. In this column, we’ll be examining the celebrity couples that give us hope for our own romantic futures and trying to learn what we can from their well-documented bonds.

Can I be so honest about something? I love dumb guys. Not dumb dumb guys—not unintelligent guys, or guys who genuinely have nothing to say or contribute to the conversation—but the overlooked high school weirdo inside of me secretly carries a torch for the guys who aren’t afraid to come off like big, hulking, jokey, semi-ridiculous jocks, and there’s no better exemplar in Hollywood than Channing Tatum, whom I’ve loved since I first saw 21 Jump Street at an impressionable age.

I love Tatum’s fiancée Zoë Kravitz with an entirely different part of my brain, but the ardor is no less real. I want to talk to her about music and global affairs and what it was like to adapt a Nick Hornby novel for TV, and I want to…play paintball with him? (I’ve never played paintball in my life, but for some reason, I think it would be fun with Channing Tatum.) I found a new appreciation for the two as a couple, though, when I saw the sweet and characteristically voicey Instagram tribute to Kravitz that Tatum recently posted, commemorating the release of their new thriller Blink Twice.

I personally feel that there are enough pictures of celebrities looking perfect on Instagram, which is probably why I love the shot of Kravitz snoozing on Tatum’s (formidable) abs almost as much as his caption: “This little sweet. She So tired bro. Every time I wondered if she’d break…. She just kept going and going and going. Always on the dig for truth. She pour’d every single ounce of her into this film. I’m so proud to stand ten toes down for her, this film and everyone in it. forever. Knowing what it took to make it. No one will ever know. Thank you for finding me and seeing me. I got you forever. Me and you back to back against it all. I’ll never blink. Let’s go. #blinktwice”

I’ve long loved Tatum’s unique method of expressing himself (remember his epic (leaked) celebration of how he and the 21 Jump Street gang “GOT CATE BLANCHETT WIT DIS BOX OFFICE BITCHES” on opening weekend, complete with perhaps the longest recorded “HAHAHAHAHAH” in the history of email?), so his confiding tone and appreciation of Kravitz’s labor is genuinely charming to me. I mean, “She So tired bro”? I firmly believe that all any of us want in this lifetime is for our partners to recognize how hard we work, see us as the sleepy gooses we are, and send us off for a nap—or, even better, provide a nap surface so that we can pass out exactly where we’re sitting. I can’t wait to read Tatum’s eventual IG wedding tribute to his bride-to-be!
