A popular British YouTuber has faced court in Perth, accused of raping and choking a woman after performing a show.
Police allege Yung Filly, real name Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, sexually assaulted a woman aged in her 20s in his hotel room after he performed at a Hillarys nightclub on September 28.
The 29-year-old was taken into custody in Brisbane on Tuesday and extradited to Perth yesterday.
He has been charged with four counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of impeding a person's normal breathing or circulation by applying pressure on or to their neck.
Filly appeared at Perth Magistrates Court earlier today, where his application for bail was adjourned until later in the day.
He remains behind bars until his matter is heard again in court.
Filly boasts 3.2 million followers on Instagram and 1.8 million subscribers on YouTube.
He started his online career in 2013 before delving into making music four years later, which has gained him more than 10 million streams on Spotify.
He is best known for his presence in online group Beta Squad and working with the collective Sidemen.
Taking his career from online to television, Filly has hosted several shows including BBC's Hot Property and his own Yung Filly's Celeb Lock-In.
He has also appeared on Channel 4's The Great Celebrity Bake Off.
