The London-based rapper started his career as a YouTuber in 2013. He now has millions of followers across multiple platforms including Instagram and Twitch.

Barrientos also became a TV personality over recent years, hosting and starring in several UK programs.

The rapper began an Australian tour with a concert in Perth last month before performing in Melbourne, Sydney, and the Gold Coast.

Charges

WA Police allege Barrientos sexually assaulted a woman in her 20s in a hotel room after he performed at a venue in Perth in September.

He was arrested last Tuesday in Brisbane before being taken to Perth to face court.

Barrientos has been charged with several offences, including four counts of sexual penetration without consent and three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm.

According to the ABC, Barrientos has been granted conditional bail.

These conditions included a ban from contacting his alleged victim or posting on social media about the case.

He must remain in Australia until his court date and report to police daily.

TDA contacted Barrientos’ lawyers for comment but did not receive a response at the time of posting.

Fallout

Several companies have ended deals with the rapper in light of the allegations.

A live podcast event planned for later this month has been cancelled, with a spokesperson telling the BBC the event will not go ahead and ticket buyers “will be refunded automatically.”

The company which produces his podcast, a shoe company, and the Football Association (FA) have severed ties with Barrientos.
