Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2024 Recap: See Tyra Banks, Kate ...

That's all from New York on this Tuesday night.

Viewers got a glimpse at the first Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in nearly six years, featuring looks from Gigi Hadid, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio and more.

Cher, Tyla and Lisa performed several songs, and Tyra Banks came out of modeling retirement to grace the Victoria's Secret runway for the first time since 2005.

Actor and former Disney Channel star Dylan Sprouse — who also happens to be married to model Barbara Palvin — brought signs of their dog and cat to the show. He posed with the posters on the pink carpet.

After 45 minutes, it's a wrap. The models came down the runway behind Tyra Banks, and fireworks went off in front of the New York City skyline.

Tyra Banks has made her Victoria's Secret Fashion Show appearance for the first time in nearly 20 years.

The crowd is going absolutely nuts.

The rest of the models followed her down the runway for the finale, complete with fireworks.

Cher sings her second song of the night, her hit "Believe," as models walk down the runway sporting different shades of red.

Bella Hadid wears a pair of fluffy red-and-black wings to cheers from the audience, and we’re starting to see some familiar faces again like Candice Swanepoel, Gigi Hadid, Adriana Lima and more as they take the runway with their second outfits.

Lisa is back to sing her hit song "MOONLIT FLOOR" as Ashley Graham walks down the runway first, and Alessandra Ambrosio follows.

Most of the models are wearing gold-and-black outfits with metallic wings, though some are adorned with feathered wings.

We appear to be entering a blue-and-white-themed portion of the show, as South African singer Tyla emerges with a fluffy set of white wings in the shape of a heart.

She's performing as Candice Swanepoel walks down the runway first sporting wings that spell out "Victoria's Secret."

Barbara Palvin followed with wore a silver set of wings, as Tyla broke into her hit track "Water."

Cher has descended upon the runway, in full angelic fashion.

She's singing "Strong Enough" and sounds fantastic while sporting a sparkly black pantsuit.

Gigi Hadid is the first model to walk down the runway, wearing a fluffy light pink set of wings that get larger and larger as she struts further down the catwalk.

"We are back," is behind her as she walks. Chappell Roan's "Femininomenon" starts playing as she exits the stage.

After what appeared to be a small glitch, the show is live from New York. But it's Tuesday night here at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

K-pop star Lisa is performing her hit track "Rockstar" with a slew of dancers.

The pink carpet has begun with hosts Olivia Culpo and Tefi Pessoa, and Pessoa got to sit down with Tyra Banks, an iconic Victoria's Secret angel.

Banks is returning to the fashion show for the first time in nearly 20 years, and shared her favorite memory from her many walks down the runway: her retirement.

"No, not because it was over!" Banks said. "It was the outfit. It was red, I had all the metals. I had the scepter. Oh my God, it was like Snoop (Dogg), I was just feeling it."

Banks walked the runway for the last time in 2005 to Snoop Dogg's hit track, "Drop It Like It's Hot."

As for one word to describe how it feels to walk down the Victoria's Secret runway?

"Fierce," the former "America's Next Top Model" host replied.

Cher is in the building! The musician walked the pink carpet with her partner, Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards.

While walking the carpet, Cher said she was "most excited" for the all-female music lineup — which, of course, includes her.

"I'm proud that women are finally being able in many ways — not in all ways but in some ways — to just find their own destiny," she said.

The singer added that she didn't recall watching the VSFS previously but that so far, it's been a "great" and "cool" experience.

She jokingly warned viewers not to get too excited for her outfit and performance.

"Don't expect that much, I'm just going to go out there and do my best," she laughed.

Edwards and Cher initially met during Paris Fashion Week in 2022 for "about 15 minutes," the singer previously told People, adding a mutual friend gave him her number.

In 2022, the pair sparked dating rumors when they were spotted getting cozy in Los Angeles. Cher later confirmed the rumors when she responded back to a fan on X, who asked her if she had a new boyfriend.

“YESSSSS,” Cher replied on Nov. 4, 2022.

While Alex Consani was getting her makeup done ahead of this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, she told TODAY.com about how she found out she would be walking down the Victoria's Secret runway for the first time.

"I found out that it was coming back through social media and word of mouth, obviously, because we all talk when it's something this major," Consani said. "When I found out about it, it was through my agents, they told me I had a fitting and I was so excited."

"I was just excited and grateful to be here. I mean, I'm one of a few trans people here today, which I'm really grateful for, and I'm happy that I get to be here and represent my community," Consani continued. "Also, just being able to feel confident, that's something that Victoria's Secret really embodies and I'm really grateful that I get to be doing today."

One of her favorite memories of the show was in 2016, when the show was held in Paris, she said.

"I just remember when all of the girls came out in their underwear under the Eiffel Tower, sparkling," she said. "I mean, that made me love Paris. And I was like, 'Oh, I need me some Victoria's Secret.'"

She added that she's most excited to walk in the show: "It's my first-ever Victoria's Secret show, and I think it's gonna be the best one yet."

Model Taylor Hill first walked down the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show runway in 2014, when she was just 18 years old. She told TODAY.com as she was getting her hair and makeup done on Tuesday morning that it was her favorite memory from all of her Victoria's Secret shows.

"I just remember feeling so excited, and it was so surreal. I was having an out of body experience," Hill said. "I couldn't believe I made it there, and that I was even doing the show. So to be here again 10 years later is really an amazing feeling."

Hill, 28, also shared the advice she would give her younger self before walking the runway for the first time.

"You know you can do it. Don't be nervous. You've got this," she said.

Model Mayowa Nicholas first walked the Victoria's Secret runway back in 2018, and she told TODAY.com about how it feels to be returning in 2024.

"I think it's different, because, honestly, as you can see, the energy of the room is all about celebrating women," she said while getting her hair and makeup done on Tuesday morning. "I feel like this is the year for women, and it feels good. Everybody's from different backgrounds, ethnicities, and we're all just coming together to just make this amazing show. It's different from the past shows."

Nicholas shared her reaction to finding out she had been cast in the show again this year.

"I found out in like March or April, and I remember my agent was the one that told me. I was with my mom, and we were just holding hands, just screaming, like, 'You're gonna be at the show!'" she recalled. "That was just such an exciting moment, and I mean, for my country as well. I'm from Nigeria, and they're all gonna be watching, even if it's gonna be so late, they're all staying up to watch me. So it's amazing."

Nicholas shared her favorite memory from the fashion show in 2018.

"That was the first time I met Adriana (Lima), so that was like, oh my goodness, I’ve always watched the old Victoria's Secret shows and seen her in person... So that was amazing, definitely. 

"First of all, I'm excited about walking with wings. This is my first time walking with wings, so I'm so excited," Nicholas said. "I'm excited to see Tyra (Banks) because, oh my goodness, it's like, nobody has seen her — this is a comeback! So I'm so excited to see her, I'm excited for everything, honestly."

As for her outfit, Nicholas shared as many details as she could.

"My outfit is very, like, rock star. I have a bodysuit with Swarovski embellishment, so it's gonna be a lot of diamonds and black — like a black diamond, literally."

Model Barbara Palvin confirmed to TODAY.com her husband, Dylan Sprouse, will be watching her walk down the runway.

"Dylan's coming. He's coming prepared, he made some signs," she said while getting her hair and makeup done on Tuesday morning. "He's very excited. Even he got a haircut!"

Palvin, who has walked in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show since 2012, shared what it was like to have Sprouse in the audience for the first time, back in 2018.

"There's a video of when I come out, he like, stands up and gasps, with his hand on his heart. That was like one year in (of us) dating. It was a little different than now," she said with a smile.

Palvin and Sprouse got married in July 2023 on her parents' property on the island of Harlekin Birtok in Hungary, according to Vogue. The pair publicly announced their engagement a month before in June 2023.

Three musicians have been confirmed to perform so far for the 2024 Victoria's Secret Fashion show — and for the first time ever, they're all women.

Music legend Cher is set to take the stage, according to a September post from the brand.

"It’s a woman’s world, so it’s understood that you can’t have a fashion show without the mother of fashion herself—@Cher!" Victoria's Secret said in an Instagram post. "But she won’t be alone...stay tuned, more announcements are coming to round out our first-ever, all-women lineup."

A few days later the brand announced Tyla and K-pop star Lisa would also be performing on the runway.

Past performers of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show have included Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande, Maroon 5 and more.

Model Barbara Palvin told TODAY.com her favorite memory from the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, which she has walked in since she was 19.

"2012, when I was Miss December, it was like a dream come true, with my little candy cane wings," she said. "That was just the best."

Palvin, 31, said that she's most excited to be back with the girls and to see the performers, especially Cher.

"I never pick favorites because it's like a mother picking her favorite child," she said, when asked of her favorite Cher song.

She added that she's missed a few things since the last show in 2018: "The energy — just like, the women empowerment all around."

Hours before the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, model Barbara Palvin shared details of the outfit she will wear down the runway.

"Sparkly, twinkly, old Hollywood," she told TODAY.com with a smile as she got her hair and makeup done on Tuesday morning.

When asked if she thinks her husband Dylan Sprouse will outdo his reaction from watching her walk in the fashion show in 2018, she said she hopes not.

"Then I'm just gonna laugh. I wanna be like the old Hollywood glam," she said, before emphasizing her look with a serious smize.

The last Victoria's Secret Fashion show was in 2018. The event recieved the worst ratings in the show's history, NBC News reported, falling from more than 10 million viewers in 2010 to just over 3 million in 2018.

Victoria’s Secret announced it would be canceling the show in November 2019 so it could “evolve the messaging of (the company),” Stuart Burgdoerfer, chief financial officer of Victoria’s Secret parent company L Brands, said on an earnings call at the time, according to Fortune.

The cancelation came as the brand was also facing several controversies, leading several executives of Victoria's Secret's parent company, L Brands, to step down. Read more about the backlash the brand faced here.

Last year, Victoria's Secret launched a partially revamped version of a fashion show titled “Victoria’s Secret World Tour,” which featured models like Gigi Hadid and Candice Swanepoel, plus performers like Doja Cat and Sabrina Carpenter.

Tyra Banks and Gigi Hadid were the first models confirmed to be returning to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

In an Instagram post from Victoria’s Secret in August, Hadid walked through New York’s Plaza Hotel to pick up a golden invite from Banks.

“Sorry, couldn’t write a caption, we were too busy picking up our jaws off the floor at @tyrabanks and @gigihadid delivering VSFS invites,” the brand wrote in the caption. “You understand.”

In addition to Banks and Hadid, Candice Swanepoel and Imaan Hammam were confirmed to be returning to the runway on Sept. 27, according to Victoria's Secret.

In the days leading up to Tuesday's event, Adriana Lima, Barbara Palvin, Ashley Graham and Jasmine Tookes were among the models also confirmed to be walking down the catwalk.

Lima starred in a Instagram video on Oct. 14, mimicking a scene of the 2016 film "How to Be Single," where she steps into a cab and asks the driver to take her home.

"I don't know where the f--- you live," the driver replies, leading Lima to ask him to take her to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

The 2024 Victoria's Secret Fashion show begins at 7 p.m. ET. The event can be streamed on Amazon Prime Video, or on the Victoria's Secret YouTube, TikTok or Instagram accounts.

In May, Victoria's Secret announced the event — and its angels — would be returning for the first time in five years.

“We’ve read the comments and heard you,” Victoria’s Secret wrote in an Instagram post. “The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is BACK and will reflect who we are today, plus everything you know and love — the glamour, runway, wings, musical entertainment, and more! Stay tuned…it only gets more iconic from here.”
