THIS COULD BE A CRICKET SCORE

While City are dominant, Copenhagen look all at sea. They cannot get close to their opponents, and goalkeeping errors like that don't help. Pep Guardiola will be urging his side to go for more.

GOAL! MANCHESTER CITY 2-0 COPENHAGEN (Julian Alvarez)

Oh dear! That is an absolute howler from goalkeeper Grabara! Rodri hits the bar with a header and the ball works its way back out to Julian Alvarez on the left. He swings in a cross, it's going straight at the 'keeper, but slips straight through his hands. 2-0.

GOAL! MANCHESTER CITY 1-0 COPENHAGEN (Manuel Akanji)

City get off to the perfect start, and what a way to open the scoring! They win a corner on the right which is swung into the box. Akanji is waiting just in front of the penalty spot, and he perfectly guides a volley into the top corner.

HAALAND CHASING A GOLDEN BOOT

He's got five Champions League goals so far this season - and Rio Ferdinand believes his pursuit of personal honours is why the striker starts tonight

GUARDIOLA TAKING NOTHING FOR GRANTED

"In football everything can happen, and we have to be aware of that,” said the City boss ahead of tonight's game. "We have respect for Copenhagen and how they play. The Champions League is Champions League.

"The best eight teams in Europe [will move to the next round]. We have the chance to be in quarter-finals again and this is the target. We’re not far off that."

Tonight's other Champions League game sees Real Madrid host RB Leipzig. The Spaniard's have a 1-0 lead from the first leg. Here's how to follow it

COPENHAGEN'S ENGLISH WOES

Copenhagen on the other hand have never won a game in England, losing five of their seven attempts, including two previous trips to the Etihad.

They did, however, beat Manchester United 4-3 in Denmark during the group stages this season.

City's home record at the Etihad Stadium is simply outstanding. They haven't lost there since November 2022, when Brentford picked up a 2-1 victory, while the last time Pep Guardiola's side lost a Champions League match on home soil was against Lyon in September 2018 - they've won 27 of 29 fixtures since then!

They're bidding to become the first English club since Nottingham Forest in 1978/79 and 1979/80 to win back-to-back European Cups. Can Guardiola follow in the footsteps of Brian Clough?
