BOISE, Idaho – Boise State Track and Field will host its first home event since 2019, head coach Pat McCurry announced Tuesday. The event, named in honor of legendary coach Ed Jacoby, is set for April 25, 2025, at the Ed Jacoby Track at Dona Larsen Park.

"There is no better way to reintroduce Bronco track & field to the Boise community than by honoring Coach Jacoby," said McCurry. "We are committed to bringing collegiate track & field back to the community here, and hope this meet is the first step in doing so.  We want our student athletes to get to compete here at home."

Jacoby coached the Broncos for 23 years from 1973-96. During his time with Boise State, Jacoby won nine Big Sky Conference Championships, was a ten-time conference coach of the year, and a three-time NCAA District Coach of the Year. He helped guide athletes to 23 NCAA All-American awards and coached two NCAA National Champions. Jacoby also served as an assistant for the U.S. track and field team at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games, and was inducted into the Boise State hall of fame in 1996.

All alumni are invited to come be a part of this event and reconnect with the Boise State community. For more information on how to get involved, please reach out to Justin Roberts at [email protected].

Additional details about the event will be provided in the spring.
