It is believed the numbers in the online queue for tickets set an all-time record for Ticketek.

While some rejoiced after scoring the coveted tickets, others remain empty-handed while the Melbourne presale gets underway.

Ticketek confirmed to 9news.com.au that the allocation of presale tickets for the three Sydney shows was exhausted.

Fans eager to go to the Melbourne shows now wait with bated breath, as they switch to a separate online lounge to scramble for tickets.

Ticketek updated fans an hour after the Sydney sale began, advising them that tickets were selling fast.

"Some price categories are close to selling out, we recommend trying other price categories," Ticketek said in a tweet shared at 11.05am.

9news.com.au understands around 800,000 people were already waiting on the website in the "lounge" or waiting area, half an hour before the presale began at 10am.

A similar number of people logged on ahead of the Melbourne sale, including many disappointed fans who were unable to purchase tickets for the Sydney show.

That number was much higher than the estimated number of seats allocated to the five shows on the Australian leg of her tour.

There are approximately 450,000 tickets available across the performances in Sydney and Melbourne.

Accor Stadium in Sydney has a capacity of 83,500 seats, with three shows adding up to around 240,000 seats.

The MCG in Melbourne has a capacity of 100,024 seats, meaning their two shows will be able to seat around 200,000 people.

But Ticketek stated that "demand for tickets will be far greater than what is available".

But with nearly double the number of people waiting in the online queue to purchase the tickets, hundreds of thousands of people will likely miss out in today's Frontier Touring presale.

The Ticketek website appeared to hold up under the massive influx sudden rush of traffic.

After the chaotic start to the AMEX presale, Ticketek Australia said, "Our systems are designed to manage these high-demand events."

"We do this every day, we're prepared," a spokesperson said.

Ticketek and Frontier touring shared their general tips for securing tickets, which included creating an account in advance, having presale codes ready and not closing or refreshing the browser while waiting.
