Breakfast with the Grinch kicks off Christmas weekend

SERGEANT BLUFF, Iowa -It’s a holly jolly holiday weekend, and a coffee shop in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa helped kick it off with a special breakfast.

At the Hawks Coffee Shop, customers were treated to a breakfast with the Grinch to kick off the Christmas weekend. Complete with a hot chocolate bar, mimosas - dyed green for the occasion - and all you can eat Grinch-colored waffles. Kids could chat with the Grinch about their holiday plans, and color on Grinch-themed coloring pages.

“I really like having things that allow for our kiddos here to come in,” said the shop’s owner, Cyndi Nelson. “We have a really big following here in Sergeant Bluff, we’re really community focused, so I just wanted to have something here for the kids to do.”

The cafe’s first crack at the event proved to be a hit with local families, quickly selling out.
