Sky is giving shoppers free Netflix and TV channels in huge new deal

Anyone looking to buy a new TV will be aware of the many Virgin Media, Sky, and Sony sales, and while the discounts make it feel like the best time to upgrade it can be tricky to know which offer to pick.

Looking at Sky, the provider has more than 10 deals on its site as we speak, its Sky Stream, TV and Netflix bundle, the swanky Sky Glass TV set, and a £144 saving for anyone who wants Sky TV and access to Sky Sports, or a saving when you bundle broadband and TV channels in one.

There's one 'staple' plan that sticks out, and as a tech writer, it's one to pick. The 43-inch Sky Glass UHD TV and Sky Live plan, (Sky Live isn't always included) will now give all users free TV channels and Netflix.

Sky says it'll give 'four months on us', a unique offer considering customers usually have to pay extra for this. A deal that'll save shoppers a huge £80 overall. Once the free time period is up, shoppers will then have to lock into the usual price, reports the Express.

The 43-inch TV offers the best of Sky's plug-in Stream box but is fitted inside the 4K UHD screen. User sers will also get access to a flurry of TV channels but there is added value in the quality of watching it from the provider's high-end device.

The Sky Glass is equipped with Dolby Atmos sound, an invisible tech that enhances the audio experience whether you're watching a series, a Hollywood film or the morning news - it delivers surround-sound quality and crispness akin to a cinema. Similar to its Sky Stream, TV, and Netflix package, a 'standard with ads' Netflix package comes included with this Sky Glass and Sky Live bundle, eliminating the need for another subscription.

If you already have a decent TV at home, the plug-in Stream box might be a better option for you, provided your device has an HDMI cable. It's currently £144 cheaper to opt for, and it allows you to do away with the satellite.

Returning to the Sky Glass and Sky Live deal - notable for its attractive free TV and Netflix offer - another standout feature is its exclusive Live features. Sky Live is only available on the Glass device, and it enables you to integrate your tablet and even games console into your smart TV.

Who would have thought you could make video calls through a TV? But the Sky Live software allows just that, while also offering access to video workouts courtesy of its AI-powered camera lens. While hunting for the best TV deal, remember that Sky isn't the only player in the game as Virgin Media and EE are currently running summer sales.

Another contender, Amazon, has slashed prices of smart TVs ahead of its 2024 Prime sale this July 16 and 17. Another sale that is catching shoppers' attention (myself included) is the John Lewis sale, where you can get £150 cut off the price of a Panasonic TV. Also offering a sale event is Currys, with huge discounts on Sony TVs.
