The Wallabies have scored a consolation try through debutant Carter Gordon but that is a truly miserable performance against the second string Springboks in Pretoria.

The world champions have won 43-12 and Australia remains winless at Loftus Versfeld in eight attempts.

South Africa 43 (Kurt-Lee Arendse 3, Pieter-Steph du Toit tries; 2 penalty tries; Manie Libbok 3 conversions, penalty), Australia 12 (Marika Koroibete, Carter Gordon tries; Gordon conversion). HT: 17-5

This is embarrassing for the Wallabies as Springboks flanker Pieter-Steph du Toit dives his way over for yet another try.

South Africa lead 43-5 after 76 minutes.

"Just too easy for Pieter-Steph," Tim Horan says on Stan.

A nightmare Test continues for the Wallabies as Suliasi Vunivalu is yellow carded and the Springboks are awarded a penalty try for a deliberate knockdown on his own line.

A second string South Africa lead 36-5 after 69 minutes.

"This has been a disaster for Eddie Jones and the Wallabies, in his first Test back in charge," Tim Horan says on Stan.

The Springboks have gone to the bench with mass changes.

They lead 29-5 after 66 minutes.

"This has been a physical masterclass from the Springboks," Tim Horan says on Stan.

"Slipping into ugly territory for the Wallabies," Sean Maloney adds.

Oh dear - referee Ben O'Keeffe has decided Wallabies hooker Dave Porecki was guilty of collapsing a rolling maul and the Springboks have been awarded a penalty try.

Porecki also cops a yellow card and the world champs lead 29-5 after 54 minutes.

He's one of the smallest men in world rugby but Cheslin Kolbe clone Kurt-Lee Arendse is having a massive impact on this match.

The winger has just completed his hat trick after the TMO decided Lukhanyo Am's pass was not clearly forward.

The Springboks lead 22-5 after 51 minutes and are on track to maintain their perfect record over the Wallabies in Pretoria.

Former Wallabies loose forward Stephen Hoiles has summed up the first half on Stan.

"I'm a little bit concerned defensively, we've made a lot more tackles and we've also missed some," Hoiles said.

"We've been outnumbered a lot of times, been caught two or three times on the right hand side of the Springboks attack, they've got us on the edge So that's a concern.

"Missed tackles is 11 to 7. We've got to get more possession and territory. We haven't spent enough time down the right end of the field. I thought we've kicked pretty well.

"Marika has done some really good things but defensively we just feel as though we're hanging on."

Reece Hodge's 66m penalty attempt falls short and the Springboks take a 17-5 lead into halftime.

Hodge is 0/3 with the boot.
