"Following the tests carried out today on our player Vini Jr. by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the femoral biceps of his left leg," an official statement on the matter read.

Vinicius played the full 90 minutes in Butarque on Sunday, and provided an assist for Kylian Mbappe to net his first goal in a while and open the scoring in an eventual 3-0 win over Leganes.
The victory moved Madrid within four points of bitter rival FC Barcelona at the La Liga summit, which is as advantage that can be cut to just one point if Carlo Ancelotti's men win their game in hand against Valencia.
For Los Blancos, however, immediate attention returns to defending the Champions League title, and getting back on track in a complicated European campaign which has already taken in shock defeats to Lille and AC Milan last time out.
Meeting Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday at Anfield is set to be a real litmus test, with the Premier League leaders also the number one ranked team in the UCL's new look league phase.
With the Ballon d'Or runner up the scorer of the winner in the UCL final at the Red's expense in Paris in 2022, it goes without saying that Ancelotti would have liked to have boasted Vinicius' devastating pace and skill in England this week.
Yet as the 24-year-old is now injured, maybe Mbappe will finally move onto his desired left wing with youngster Endrick the central target man Mbappe has been so far this season.
Alternatively, Ancelotti could field Mbappe and an Arda Guler who was fantastic at Leganes as striker-wingers in a 4-4-2 on paper, while Jude Bellingham is the false number 9 that enjoyed great success as such in the treble-winning campaign of 2023-2024.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, Vinicius blamed soccer's "crazy calendar" for his latest setback.
