Slot: We can't get ahead of ourselves - just look at Man City
They're a huge seven points clear at the top of the Premier League but Liverpool's lead counts for little to Arne Slot, who says Manchester City's incredible drop-off shows anything can happen in the title race.
The Reds came from behind to beat Leicester City 3-1 at Anfield on Boxing Day, a result that strengthened their hold of top spot after second-placed Chelsea's 2-1 loss at home to Fulham.
Slot says he and his players are paying attention to the Premier League standings but that Liverpool aren't getting ahead of themselves, citing Man City's problems as the reason why.
"Of course we look at the table but we also know how hard this league is. Two months ago we were one point behind Manchester City," Slot said to BBC Match of the Day.
"What this league can do if you get injuries and suspensions... this can happen to any team. We have to stay on top of our game."
Slot added to Amazon Prime: "It's a bit of a boring answer but as a manager, you go game by game - you know how many games you have to play.
"So many teams have so much quality. If this happened in the Eredivisie I would say OK that is true."
Salah: I dream of winning the Premier LeagueMohamed Salah, who scored his side's third goal of the match, is dreaming of winning the title for the fans but adds that he and his team-mates need to focus on each match.
"The most important thing is the team winning - hopefully we win the Premier League. It is great, but we focus on each game and hopefully we carry on like that," Salah told Amazon Prime.
"It feels different, but the most important thing is we need to stay humble.
"This one is very special, hopefully we win the Premier League and for this club it is something I dream of."
Cody Gakpo echoed Salah's words, adding that their approach to each match is what is helping Liverpool remain "humble" in the title race.
"We only think about the next game," Gakpo said on Amazon Prime.
"We cannot deny we are in a good place, but still one of the strengths of the team is we approach each game as a new one.
"That keeps us humble."
Liverpool's next five PL fixturesJones: A long way to goIt was a special evening for Curtis Jones, who marked his 100th Premier League match for Liverpool with his 10th goal in the competition, as he shared his thoughts on his side's chances in the title race.
“We have still got a long, long way to go. There are plenty of games to come. We’ll take each game as it comes and try to win all the games," Jones told BBC Match of the Day.
"It was a hard game. Leicester sat back and defended well. Especially for me it was hard to find space inside. It was more of a patient game and not trying to play into their plan.
"In the first half, we were crossing the ball a load and that is what they wanted. In the second half, we changed it round, kept the ball more, and that’s where the goals came from.
"When we were a goal down and it was almost half-time, we didn’t stop, and we scored. In the second half, we started strong and scored again. The thing with us is we just want to win each game."
