Liverpool have opened up a seven-point lead at the top of English football's Premier League, coming back from a goal down to beat Leicester City 3-1 at Anfield.

Struggling Leicester took a shock early lead just six minutes into the match before Liverpool equalised on the stroke of half-time.

They took the lead early in the second half and netted their third late in the match.

The victory extends Liverpool's unbeaten league run to 13 games and moves them up to 42 points at the top of the standings.

Defending champions Manchester City continued their slide down the standings with a 1-1 draw with Everton.

City have just one win to show for their last 13 matches across all competitions, tumbling to seventh in the table, five points behind Arsenal in fourth place, having played a game more.

Nottingham Forest moved up to third with a 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

Fulham came from behind to put a dent in second placed Chelsea's title ambitions with a 2-1 win in their London derby, scoring their first win at Stamford Bridge in 45 years.

Newcastle United crushed 10-man Aston Villa 3-0 and Manchester United lost for the fourth time in five Premier League games, going down 2-0 at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

West Ham United edged bottom of the table Southampton 1-0.

Bournemouth slipped to sixth after being held to goal-less draw by Crystal Palace.
