Low on cash, the kids ultimately decided to help Wes with his search despite the unsettling tales of creepy curses linked to his family and infamous pirate.

However, the Pogues quickly learn they’re not the only ones looking for the lost treasure. An unknown man starts following them, later revealed to be a mercenary named Lightner, who nearly kills Kiara and JJ and kidnaps Cleo. Wes also dies mysteriously, and Cleo’s old friend and father figure, Terrance, sacrifices his life to save hers at the end of Episode 4.

In the thrilling finale of Outer Banks Season 4, part one, JJ and Kiara remain on Kildare Island while the other Pogues head to Charleston to find the blue crown. However, they soon find themselves racing against Lightner and his boss, Dalia, who infiltrate a crypt beneath an old church ahead of the Pogues and steal a critical scroll that could aid in the treasure hunt.

Meanwhile, the last viewers see of Pope and Sarah, they are trapped in the catacombs as floodwaters rush in from a brewing storm. In a shocking twist, JJ learns that Luke is not his father; instead, Larissa is his biological mother, making Wes his grandfather and Chandler Groff his real father. So basically, JJ might have Kook blood in his veins after all.

Yes! Netflix dropped the official trailer for Outer Banks Season 4, Part 2, on November 2, 2024. The Pogues find themselves without money (again) and face a dire situation in the next batch of episodes. “We’re homeless. Broke again. Chased by killers,” Kiara says in the trailer.

The group also learns that the Blue Crown is located in Morocco, which means the Pogues will be headed overseas again. But they won’t be alone. Interestingly, Rafe offers to assist them in reaching North Africa, provided he gets “his cut” of the treasure.
