Margot Robbie gives birth to first child, according to reports
Australian actress Margot Robbie has reportedly become a mother. The 34-year-old Queensland-born actress and her British husband, Tom Ackerley, are parents of a son, according to media reports.
The Mail on Sunday broke the news at the weekend, reporting that the couple became parents two weeks ago, shortly before Robbie’s due date, and that “all is well”. People has also reported a source has confirmed the birth. Robbie’s representatives did not respond when contacted by this masthead.

Robbie and Ackerley met in 2013 on the set of the World War II drama Suite Francaise. Robbie had a supporting role in the film; Ackerley was working as an assistant director. The couple married in December 2016 in a private ceremony in Byron Bay.
For the past decade, they have kept their relationship outside the spotlight. There was no formal announcement of their engagement or wedding.

There was no formal announcement that the couple were expecting a child, though photographs of a pregnant Robbie were published in July during the couple’s Italian vacation.
It is not likely a formal announcement will be made for the birth of the couple’s son. Emails to Robbie’s US publicists went unanswered.
But the Mail on Sunday published images of Ackerley purchasing baby supplies, including a box of nappies, near the couple’s home in Los Angeles. Ackerley was also pictured holding what appeared to be a bottle of champagne.
Speaking to Vogue magazine in 2016, Robbie said the relationship with Ackerley had taken a long time to develop. “I was always in love with him but I thought, oh, he would never love me back,” Robbie said. She added that she ultimately reasoned with herself: “Don’t make it weird, Margot. Don’t be stupid and tell him that you like him.”

Robbie and Ackerley created the production company LuckyChap Entertainment in 2014, to develop projects for Robbie but also to develop projects with other artists. The venture has been an astonishing success, with a number of films including I, Tonya (2017) and Barbie (2023), both of which starred Robbie.
LuckyChap also produced two of Emerald Fennell’s critically acclaimed films, Promising Young Woman (2020) and Saltburn (2023).
After a handful of smaller roles, Robbie broke through with a role in Neighbours in 2008, playing Donna Freedman for three years and earning two Logie nominations.
Moving to Los Angeles after leaving Erinsborough, Robbie drew wide attention with a small role in Martin Scorsese’s biographical black comedy The Wolf of Wall Street in 2013.

That was followed by a string of hits including Focus (2015), Suicide Squad (2016) and I, Tonya, in which she played American figure skater Tonya Harding.
Robbie has been nominated for an Oscar three times: in 2018 for I, Tonya, in 2020 for Bombshell, and in 2024 for Barbie.
