Garnacho is trying to single-handedly take on two thirds of the blue shirts on the pitch. It doesn’t come to anything, but you’ve got to admire his tenacity.

Fernandes nets his second of the match after winding past the keeper and tapping it in from close range. 5-2 to United.

A shot on target for Zirkzee from the centre of the box, but he doesn't do enough to get around the keeper.

A pretty spectacular flourish by Justin who is brought down by Rashford just outside the area, though the ensuing free-kick brings nothing.

A REMINDER OF THAT LAST GOAL

Conor Coady scored the SIXTH goal of that first half. Can he add another in the second? Indeed, can any of the Foxes get Leicester back in this game?

WE'RE BACK UNDERWAY AT OLD TRAFFORD

Where. to remind you, United are 4-2 up.

You can all go and collect yourselves after a pretty exciting first half, and a mere six goals. United end the first half 4-2 up.

Out of nowhere, Conor Coady finds himself in front of the net at just the right moment to claw one back, in the second of four minutes of added time.

Garnacho has another crack at the goal and misses, but it's not a bad effort and the shots are coming thick and fast now. The Foxes will be relieved, no doubt, when they hear the half-time whistle.

Fast and furious here tonight as Casemiro finds the net AGAIN just in front of the goal from a deflection.

Fernandes slots straight through Leicester's wall from a free-kick just outside the area. United go 3-1 up.

A foul by de Ligt sees Thomas take a free-kick for the visitors, which fails to find the net, but Bilal El Khannouss follows up with a right footed shot which comes off the post and into the net.

Steve Cooper is not looking happy, and I've got to be honest, other than being two goals down, it's not entirely obvious as to why.

Garnacho doubles the lead as he taps Dalot's cross into the top left corner. A great cross and a great finish.

Some nice play there between Garnacho and Rashford, but Justin shuts it down.

The flag is up, and there's no VAR in the League Cup to start further arguments, so that's that for Garnacho.

The ref sees yellow after Okolie takes a fist-full of Fernandes' shirt. A bit heavy handed by both the ref and Okolie, in my opinion.

And they'll be happy with that.

GOAL! CASEMIRO GIVES UNITED THE LEAD!

A wonderful right-footed strike from outside the box by Casemiro, finds the top far corner of the net. Lovely stuff.

Van Nistelrooy steps out at United this evening looking, it must be said, rather excitable. Let's see if his team do this justice.
