Craig Hutchison has declared the Perth Wildcats will provide as much support as possible for the Perth Lynx, but stopped short of his Sports Entertainment Group entering the market to buy the WNBL club, despite the teams signing a joint sponsorship agreement with Rio Tinto.

The Lynx are searching for either a significant financial partner or a buyer after it became clear it wasn’t realistic for Basketball WA to continue running the club alone. BWA has owned the licence since 2020 after the Wildcats ended their time in charge of the Lynx.
