When at 9:28 p.m EDT in summer in 2010, James announced that he would play with Miami in the 2010-11 season, many questioned his choice. And till now, that decision is being speculated.

After Cleveland Cavaliers’ majority owner, Dan Gilbert; former basketball small forward, Richard Jefferson; and others; Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud now called out LA Lakers power forward “selfish.”

In a recent episode of the weekly podcast, MILLION DOLLAZ WORTH OF GAME, Texans QB Stroud and WR Tank Dell, joined the hosts Gillie Da King and Wallo267 to talk about sports and life. During the discussion, Stroud reportedly made a shocking admission about LeBron James, implying that he went to the Miami Heat to win, which seems ‘selfish.’ The conversation started when King was comparing Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady, calling out the Jets QB “overhyped.”

To further explain his point, he asked a question to CJ Stroud and Tank, “Would LeBron James be LeBron James if he had one ring?” Answering the question, 22-year-old quarterback modified the question, stating, “Let me ask you this question: would LeBron James be LeBron James without going to the Heat and getting a super team. I don’t respect LeBron, what he did. You got to have a great team.” This subtle remark somewhat reportedly implies that Stroud feels James went to Miami only for win, and that sounded like a ‘selfish act’.

So, was James being selfish when choosing to play for the Heat? Well, as many opinionated about him being the most selfish player in the NBA world, the power forward himself came in front of the media to talk about the “selfish” title.

LeBron James is okay to be selfish?

LeBron James, a four-time NBA champion, has made many decisions that people have often viewed as selfish, with ‘The Decision’ being the most notable. However, James feels the action he did was necessary. In February of this year, James appeared in an interview, where he shared a piece of advice to the youth. After defeating the Knicks on their home court, he spoke about how the young generation is nowadays more focused on materialistic benefits instead of the sport itself.

Therefore, advising them, the NBA star expressed, “I see a lot of these kids getting so unfocused about stuff that is so material … Just worry about the game … everything takes care of itself.” He further added, “Be selfish, too. It’s okay to be selfish because you have to be a little bit selfish to be able to be great. Some people have to fall to the wayside at times.”

So, that’s the ideology James follows! And there is no doubt, keeping his motto alive, James has indeed registered himself as one of the legendary players in the NBA world.
