FC Barcelona finally return to official league action as the Catalan giants take on their latest challenge in La Liga. This time around, Hansi Flick’s side takes on Michel’s Girona in a match that promises to be extremely interesting. To maintain their perfect record, however, Barcelona will aim for another win here.
After winning all four of their first games, Barça hope to ensure that they keep their perfect streak alive. Girona, on the other hand, will look to do their best in order to stop them from doing so while simultaneously aiming for all three points themselves in front of their home fans.
Ahead of the match itself, however, Barcelona have now officially released their starting eleven to take on their fellow Catalan club. As expected, it seems that Hansi Flick has opted to go for a strong eleven to take on the challenge of a demanding game.
In goal, as always, remains new and the now-undisputed Germany number one Marc-Andre Ter Stegen. While the Barcelona veteran may now have achieved his desire of becoming his country’s primary shot-stopper, he will also need to continue providing his best level to Barcelona and today will be no different.
Right ahead of him, the two starting central defenders are Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez. The two Spaniards continue to showcase their solid partnership and remain flawless in terms of results so far in La Liga. Their latest win, the 7-0 thrashing of Real Valladolid, was a game where they also managed to keep a clean sheet.
The fullbacks on either side of the two central defenders are Jules Kounde and Alejandro Balde. A great combination of strength and electric pace, both players have their own strengths that are complimented by the presence of their fullback teammate on the opposite flank.
In the heart of the midfield, Pedri continues to stay in the starting eleven and he is now joined by Marc Casado. The two Spaniards will hope to provide balance and support to both their forwards and their backline whenever possible throughout the game.
Up ahead of them, the trio of Lamine Yamal, Dani Olmo, and Raphinha make their way into the starting eleven yet again. Given how well they have been linking up in recent games, it hardly comes as a surprise to see these Barcelona stars start a game together again.
Finally, the man spearheading Hansi Flick’s team’s attack will be none other than Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker remains in great form for both club and country and he will be hoping to continue his fine scoring streak in La Liga against Michel’s team as well.
