Kate Scott, formerly known as Kate Abdo, has become one of the most popular and respected sports presenters in the UK. The 43 year old will be hosting the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul fight and has been the face of CBS Sports' football coverage since 2020, presenting the UEFA Champions League Today show alongside Micah Richards, Thierry Henry, and Jamie Carragher.
She's had a successful career in media, working for some of the world's largest broadcasting companies. Despite being born and raised in England, Scott moved to Spain at the age of 17 to perfect her Spanish and complete her high school diploma.
She later returned to the UK to earn a master's degree in European languages from the University of Salford while also studying translation and interpreting at the University of Malaga.

But who is the presenter, who spearheads CBS Sports' Champions League coverage and led the historic boxing event between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul on Netflix?
She then pursued journalism, but confessed that she struggled to find work in her early days. Reflecting on her life before fame, Scott told her CBS colleagues that she used to work at the well-known high street bakery chain, Greggs, reports the Mirror.
"Do you know who else used to work for Greggs? One and only... yes I did," she expressed during the live segment, humorously adding, "I wasn't dripping in Louis Vuitton quite so much back then, but yeah, that was my first job."
In an impressive ascent through the media ranks, the journalist's career began with an internship at Deutsche Welle, Germany's international broadcaster, back in 2005. She quickly moved up the ladder by securing a role as production assistant for Goal, the Bundesliga Magazine, in 2006, followed by presenting news and sports on Deutsche Welle’s English and German services until 2009.
Her path saw further elevation after she joined the team at CNN where she shone as the anchor of ‘World Sports’. Her move to Sky Sports News in Germany marked her rise as their principal anchor, enhancing her broadcast reputation.
In the UK, she continued to grace the screen for both Sky Sports News and various high-profile events, including boxing pay-per-views and European football tournaments abroad.
Fox Sports noted her appeal, bringing her on board to cover the Women’s World Cup in 2015. Her journey took a glamorous turn when she moved to the US to join Fox, becoming the face of their Champions League and Europa League broadcasts.
After Fox lost the right to the competition, the presenter shifted to TNT and later joined CBS in 2020. At CBS, she took over as host of the increasingly popular 'UEFA Champions League Today' show, featuring football icons such as Henry, Carragher, and Richards.
Her successful career has earned her an estimated net worth of £2million.
An on-air clash with Carragher made the headlines when during a broadcast this year in March, Richards put on an Arsenal shirt and encouraged Carragher to do the same. Declining the offer as a committed Manchester United supporter, she stated emphatically, "No, I'm loyal. I'm loyal."
To which Carragher cheekily retorted, "To who? " leading to Abdo's firm affirmation: "Manchester United, thank you very much."
Their banter escalated into an uneasy moment when Carragher jokingly referred to her then-fiancé Malik Scott, causing surprise among the panel and viewers alike. A flustered Abdo replied: "What? Why would you even say that," followed by an awkward chortle from Carragher.
The video quickly spread like wildfire across social media platforms, prompting Malik, with his history as a professional boxer, to issue a stern warning that he would "show up in a physical manner" were Carragher to overstep the mark again. Despite the initial tension, things lightened up by the following day, with Kate injecting humour into the situation at the beginning of their live show.
She joked: "This group, we've been together now for three-and-a-half-years is it? And I grew up with a brother and doing this show I feel like I've gained three more here."
She affectionately dubbed Henry as "the golden child who can do no wrong," referred to Richards as "the little bro - loud but lovable," then turned to Carragher, saying: "Then there is the middle child, Jamie Carragher. Chip on his shoulder, capable of saying anything for attention," adding humorously, "Does he go too far sometimes? Absolutely. Does he apologise? Yes, he does - but all of us have that one annoying family member that we still love and accept."
Malik disclosed later on that Carragher had offered an apology face-to-face for the mishap, stating: "It was not something I lost any sleep over because I noticed the way Kate handled it was very, very well, and Jamie was just being Jamie and I have no problem with him."
He continued: "You chop it up and apologise like men, which he did, and life goes on. I respect anyone who has a mishap and is man enough to apologise to the person and the person's partner. I felt no ill feelings when we met."
"The thing that Jamie said, Kate was hurt, but they all made up and handled it collectively at the time. I said my piece on it, but the real thing is, we all got together and looked into each other's eyes and had great food and great conversations."
"I never had a strong opinion about Jamie Carragher, only about the things that he said, but meeting him, I really enjoyed the man's company. I have the utmost respect for him, as well as the rest of the panel."
Earlier this year, Abdo tied the knot with Malik Scott in a picturesque ceremony in the Malibu Hills, California. Honouring her husband's boxing background, their wedding featured an intricately designed cake symbolising the sport that's played a vital role in his life.
Scott was full of praise for his wife's thoughtful wedding touch, remarking: "Kate did something incredibly creative, caring and compassionate, reflecting the walk of life I come from. She took an old picture of my first ABC Gym in North Philadelphia, where I was raised, the gym that essentially saved my life."
"She copied the ring from that gym and turned it into a cake, with me in the ring wearing the boxing trunks I had on when I fought Tony Thompson. Those trunks were inspired by Sugar Ray Leonard's pair from his rematch with Tommy Hearns, with my twist to them - pink and black stripes. And she put an icing figure of herself beside mine, clad in her bridal gown."
Scott was visibly moved by the gesture, saying: "The thoughtfulness and creativity moved me to tears because it took me back to my childhood in that ring, where I faced many challenges, learned hard lessons, and grew. That ring always meant the world to me. She made sure to incorporate that into our wedding day, placing us both in the ring on the cake her in a wedding dress, me in my boxing outfit. The contrast was beautiful, thoughtful and loving."
Scott began boxing at 11 and became Junior Olympic Champion by 17. He turned pro in 2000, retiring in 2016 with a 38-3-1 record, having faced big names like Derek Chisora and Deontay Wilder.
Although he never won a title, Scott earned respect for his powerful punches and fighting spirit. He switched to coaching in 2021, teaming up with former opponent Wilder, and has cornered fights against Tyson Fury, Robert Helenius, Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang.
