Jude Bellingham took out his anger out on a huge drinks cooler after England’s defeat to Spain in the Euro 2024 final on Sunday evening.
Gareth Southgate’s side suffered a last-gasp defeat at the Olympiastadion in Berlin as Mikel Oyarzabal’s goal in the 86th minute sealed a 2-1 victory for Spain after Cole Palmer had cancelled out Nico Williams’ opener.
England’s players looked crestfallen at the full-time whistle, while many members of the squad, including Southgate, removed their runners-up medals almost immediately shortly before Spain’s trophy presentation.

Bellingham, meanwhile, vented his frustration by walking over to England’s dugout where he kicked over a massive drinks bin which sent ice everywhere.
Speaking after England’s defeat, Southgate revealed that Bellingham would have likely been substituted had the game gone to extra time.
‘Jude you could see we were about to take off because he was cramping as well,’ Southgate said.
‘That physical toll was definitely an issue for us with others in the group as well.
‘But of course, that’s exacerbated when you don’t keep the ball earlier in the game.
‘There was a lot stacked against us tonight in terms of having a day less to recover from the previous game and having had the extra time periods we did.
‘But we have to hold our hands up – Spain were better. In the end, that’s the long and short of it.’
Meanwhile, England captain Harry Kane described the defeat to Spain as a ‘missed opportunity’ as the Three Lions become the first team in history to lose in consecutive European Championship finals.
‘It’s hard to put into words how we’re all feeling right now,’ Kane told ITV.
‘Tough game. We did well to get back into the game and struggled to build on that. To concede late on is really tough to take.
‘We’ve been coming from behind all tournament, we’ve got it in the locker. We didn’t take the next step and win it.
‘In the first half, we struggled. We couldn’t keep the ball. [The] second half was better and we got the goal. We got caught with a cross and that’s the final.
‘It’s an opportunity missed. These finals aren’t easy to get to. You have to take it when it comes, and we haven’t done it again. It’s extremely painful, and it’ll hurt for a long time.’
