Jayam Ravi is in the news again, this time for his much-publicised separation from his wife Aarti. The Tamil star took to X on September 9 and announced his separation from Aarti, shocking fans. Since then, speculations about his alleged closeness to Goan singer Kenishaa Francis have been spreading like wildfire across the Internet.

All eyes are now on this sultry crooner. Hailing from Bengaluru, Francis has made a name for herself in the party circuits in Goa. She is also a sought-after performer at the clubs. Her mellifluous voice and energetic performances have helped her gain a name beyond Goa. She recently collaborated with actor Jiiva on a musical album.

According to a Mathrubhumi report, Kenishaa first crossed paths with Jayam Ravi during one of his frequent vacations to Goa with friends. The two reportedly clicked right away, with Jayam said to be captivated by Kenishaa’s singing. They got along like a house on fire and eventually began dating.

Although the duo was reportedly tightlipped about the affair, Ravi’s wife eventually came to know about them. Tamil magazine Nakheeran reported that the rumoured lovebirds were fined for speeding in Goa earlier this June while driving in the actor’s car. Aarti reportedly received a notification about the fine on her phone, which led to arguments between the couple. Nakheeran further claimed that Jayam Ravi gave his 14th wedding anniversary a miss, and opted to spend the day buying a bungalow in Goa with Kenishaa.

On September 11, Aarti claimed that the separation was not mutual and the ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ star did not consult her before taking the plunge. Taking to her Instagram profile, she wrote, “I was deeply shocked and saddened by the recent public announcement regarding our marriage, which was made without my knowledge or consent. After 18 years of shared history, I believe that such a significant matter should be handled with the grace, respect, and privacy that it deserves."

Later, Aarti, who had control of Ravi’s Instagram account, blocked his access. However, the actor’s team managed to regain control of his handle, and the actor dropped a new picture of himself along with the caption, “This is the new me.”

Ravi reportedly sought assistance from Meta to resolve the issue and successfully regained access with their support.
