There’s a lot we could thank social media for—laughs, how-tos, hot takes—but at the very top of the list are viral home products. From desk chairs and outdoor storage boxes to suction cup shower hooks, our spaces are partially indebted to the algorithms of TikTok and Instagram. Now creators have zeroed in on one of our favorite brands (IKEA!) to highlight a design that has us all smiling and nodding.
The next piece they’re all rushing to buy is the new dimmable Spetsboj lamp. That might not sound very exciting until you see how the bulb is adjusted. A quick twist of the “lampshade”—which is made of powder-coated steel and attached to the base—makes the light brighter or dimmer. Better yet, you can see the magic happen if you remove the cover at the top of the lamp (the internal mechanism looks a little bit like the teeth of some deep-sea creature). A small round button on the side turns the lamp on and off.
Because the Spetsboj lamp is only 9 inches tall and 5 inches wide, it won’t throw enough light to brighten up an entire room, so we see it serving a cozy mood on a bookshelf, nightstand, or console table. No matter where you put it, the nifty trick is bound to impress guests, and for $13, the adorable fixture (available in white, forest green, and lemon yellow) is an incredible find.
