The Hurricanes remain the only perfect team in Super Rugby Pacific, going to 7-0 with a fine 36-23 home win over the Chiefs.

It looked like the visitors were going to finish over the top of the Hurricanes when they claimed a second half lead but the Hurricanes rallied in impressive fashion.

Tackling Asafo Aumua does not look like fun.

The dynamic Hurricanes hooker has rampaged down the right wing to score a crucial try and the home team's lead extends to 36-23 after 73 minutes.

"He is a runaway freight train tonight," Justin Marshall says on Stan Sport.

And just like that, the Hurricanes burst back into life.

The home side pulled off some superb offloads for TJ Perenara's second try of the night, with wingers Kini Naholo and Josh Moorby heavily involved.

Perenara is now level with former teammate Julian Savea for most Super Rugby tries of all time with 62.

The Hurricanes lead 24-23 after 59 minutes as the Wellington fans rediscover their voice.

After being yellow carded in the first half, Chiefs winger Emoni Narawa has now scored a crucial second half try.

The Chiefs were patient in Hurricanes territory before spinning it wide and now lead 23-17 after 50 minutes.

"You certainly feel the Hurricanes are rattled," Justin Marshall says on Stan Sport.

Damian McKenzie is on the money again as the Chiefs star kicks his third penalty.

The Hurricanes lead 17-16 after 47 minutes.

The Hurricanes lead 17-13 at halftime but will feel they should be up by more.

It's a high quality contest between two genuine title contenders in Wellington.

And Damian McKenzie kicks another penalty as Chiefs winger Emoni Narawa returns from his yellow card.

The Hurricanes now lead 17-13 after 38 minutes.
