Thousands have marched through the streets of a capital and to the Beehive, to protest the ACT Party's Treaty Principles Bill.

A hīkoi against the controversial legislation reached Wellington on Tuesday.

Green Mp Tamatha Paul said those gathering were united in their determination: "The energy, the power, it's palpable here on the ground."

Police said there have been no significant issues on Friday morning.
