Lewis Martin Fry, affectionately known as "Marty," was born on June 20, 1947, in Hollywood, California. He passed away on December 21, 2024, while surrounded by his loved ones, leaving behind a profound legacy of kindness, humor, and adventurous spirit.

Marty dedicated 35 years of his professional life to State Farm Insurance Company, from which he retired. His career was characterized by his generous nature and the friendly demeanor that allowed him to make connections with everyone he met. A graduate of Miamisburg High School, Marty carried with him throughout his life a love of learning and exploration.

An avid traveler, Marty cherished taking road trips with his son, Kevin Fry, and family friend, Eric. These journeys were filled with laughter, stories, and a shared sense of adventure—qualities that defined his personality. His great sense of humor, wittiness, and ability to genuinely engage with others made him a beloved figure to many. He had an uncanny talent for fixing just about anything, and his creativity shone brightly in his numerous hobbies, including collecting gas and oil signs, Civil War memorabilia, and antiquing. Marty was also skilled in woodworking projects and loved spending tranquil moments with his beloved dogs, who brought him immense joy.

Marty's spirit of generosity extended beyond his family and friends, as he was always kind to everyone he encountered. His friendly nature meant he never met a stranger; rather, he embraced everyone into his circle with warmth and kindness. Above all, Marty was adventurous, constantly seeking new experiences and historical places to explore.

He is survived by his son, Kevin Fry; his sister, Jean and her husband Bob Basore and brother-in-law, Earl Conley; along with other family and friends who will cherish the memories they shared with him. Marty was preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Cathy Fry, known affectionately as "Spanky," as well as his siblings, Howard F. Fry Jr. "Bud," Charles L. Fry, Jill Conley, and his parents, Howard and Jean Fry.

The impact Marty had on the lives of those who knew him will resonate for years to come. His legacy of kindness, humor, and adventure will remain in the hearts of those he touched.
