Prince Louis, 5, has his arms around his father's shoulders as nine-year-old Prince George and Princess Charlotte, 8, sit either side.

The photograph was taken on the Windsor Estate earlier this year by Millie Pilkington.

This year marks the first time William will mark the occasion with his father as monarch.

In a new interview with The Times, the Prince of Wales has revealed his ambition to end homelessness in the UK - and ensure that his children are aware about the issue.

Princess Diana took him to a homeless shelter when he was 11 years old.

He said: "When I left this morning, one of the things I was thinking was, 'When is the right time to bring George or Charlotte or Louis to a homeless organisation?'

"I think when I can balance it with their schooling, they will definitely be exposed to it. On the school run, we talk about what we see.

"When we were in London, driving backwards and forwards, we regularly used to see people sitting outside supermarkets and we'd talk about it."

The prince is the patron of Centrepoint, a charity that supports homeless young people.

Earlier this week, he officially opened Reuben House - a block of 33 studio properties in southeast London where rents are fixed at a third of a resident's income.

William's "really big project" to tackle homelessness is being kept secret until the end of the month, and is set to span a five-year period.

But he did reveal there are social housing plans for the Duchy of Cornwall, the 130,000-acre property empire he now controls.

"I'm no policy expert, but I push it where I can," the prince added.
