2024 F1 championship standings after United States Grand Prix

It was another three points lost by Lando Norris in his F1 drivers' title battle with Max Verstappen after collecting a late penalty in the United States Grand Prix.

McLaren driver Norris took the chequered flag in third position but a five-second penalty for overtaking Verstappen off track and gaining an advantage on lap 52 of 56 means he dropped behind the Red Bull driver on the results sheet.

Verstappen has now stretched his advantage over Norris to 57 points in the standings.

In the constructors' championship, a Ferrari one-two spearheaded by Charles Leclerc, has pushed the Scuderia to within eight points of second-placed Red Bull, with the reigning champions now 40 adrift of McLaren.
