England men’s under-18s suffered a 3-1 loss to Poland on Friday morning in the first of two November matches in Valencia.
A first-half strike from winger Ben Broggio was not enough to prevent defeat as the Poles produced a comeback win.
Liam Bramley’s side got off to a strong start, taking the lead within 17 minutes on the clock, courtesy of some great link-up play on the right flank.
Jaden Dixon and Trevan Sanusi set up Baylee Dipepa for shot, with the rebound being put away by Broggio.
England continued to probe in the half but were ultimately pegged back before the break as a pinpoint corner was headed home to make it 1-1.
Poland built on their momentum heading into the second half, grabbing a second midway through the second period before adding a late third to seal the win.
The Young Lions could not fight back and will now face the losing team from Germany v Belgium on Monday 18 November to conclude their camp.
