Super Rugby: Eden Park sells out within hours for Blues-Chiefs final
The Super Rugby final between the Blues and the Chiefs at Eden Park this weekend has sold out just hours after tickets went on sale.
A crowd of 44,000 is expected in Auckland on Saturday night for the competition decider.
Tickets went on sale at 9am on Tuesday, with the Blues saying the match had sold out around five hours later.
However, additional seats could become available later in the week, the Auckland-based franchise teased.
Blues head coach Vern Cotter told 1News the greatest challenge in a grand final is "looking ahead too much".
"As soon as you let other things come in, expectations or extra pressures, I think a big part of it is coming back to what has worked for you really well, that's what will get you through."
Cotter said he was "really looking forward" to Saturday's sold-out final.
"For all the Blues supporters and sponsors and people that have been behind the team, it's great to be able to have a home final."
A new Super Rugby champion will be crowned for the first time since the Hurricanes hoisted the trophy in 2016.
The Crusaders have won the previous seven titles.
The Blues are aiming to end a 21-year drought for the championship, while the Chiefs are chasing their first title since 2013.
