What Time Does 'Dune: Prophecy' Come Out? Full Release Schedule

From the universe of Dune, created by author Frank Herbert, Dune: Prophecy is set 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides. The series “follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit,” the official synopsis reads. The show was inspired by the sci-fi novel Sisterhood of Dune, written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.
Alison Schapker serves as showrunner and executive producer, while Diane Ademu-John co-developed the series and serves as executive producer. In a recent interview with Forbes contributor Jeff Conway, Schapker expanded on how she intertwined the previous Dune stories into Prophecy.

“That was some of the needle we wanted to thread because we have such tremendous respect for the source material. Everyone is influenced by Frank Herbert’s Dune in the writers room and everyone has treated Brian and Kevin J. Anderson’s novels like a seminal text for us,” Schapker said.
She continued, “We are constantly turning back to source material. Denis’ films set a huge bar - I think unlocked Dune for so many people, in terms of just creating a world that was both mind-blowing, but also believable and grounded. So, that was also a thing we wanted to thread - but also, longform television is its own beast and we really wanted to create a story that had enough there to really pull you in.”
