The 39-year-old made his stance on the matter very clear.

Chris told RadioTimes: "100 per cent, [it is]. No question about it at all. Like, people argue that it's not a Christmas film but there are too many Christmas references. Like, there's far too many.

"It's scattered throughout the entire film. It's not just sat there and never mentioned again. It's fully thick of Christmas. It's 100 per cent a Christmas film and I won't hear anything against it."

In their Sky special, Chris and his fellow comedian Paul Chowdhry engaged in a discussion about the all-important question of whether Die Hard qualifies as a Christmas movie.

Playing the grump, Paul highlights its July release, to which Chris swiftly rebuts, noting that the original Miracle on 34th Street was released in June. The duo engaged in a spirited back-and-forth.

Chris is married to Rosie Ramsey, a famous British actress, presenter and radio producer.

She co-hosted the drive-time show on Capital Radio in the North East.

The couple have their own Netflix series, The Chris And Rosie Ramsey Show.

On the show, the duo invite celebrity guests and have candid relatable conversations, a spin-off to their podcast.

The Die Hard debate was got so bad that YouGov, a market research company, put out a poll two years ago hoping to settle the debate once and for all but even then the results were determined by a very slim margin.

In the end, 47 percent of people who saw the movie believed that it was not a Christmas film, compared to 44 percent who thought otherwise.

The film follows New York City Detective John McClane (Willis) traveling to Los Angeles, California on Christmas Eve as he hopes to reconcile with his estranged wife, Holly.

It sounds like your average Hallmark movie until the building hosting a corporate Christmas party - where McClane’s wife, Holly, is located - is seized by radical German terrorists led by Hans Gruber, played by the late Alan Rickman.

Some arguments supporting the classification of Die Hard as a Christmas film include themes like a holiday setting, a Christmas-themed soundtrack, and the emphasis on the spirit of friendship.
