John Stamos Offers Support After Dave Coulier Reveals Cancer ...

The Full House star confirmed he will be "by your side through it all" after Coulier shared the news with fans

John Stamos offered some brotherly love to his Full House costar Dave Coulier. After Coulier revealed he has been diagnosed with Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma, Stamos took to Instagram to show his support.

Stamos posted a series of photos of the pair, including snaps of them on the set of Full House. “My brother from day 1,” he wrote in the caption. “Love you @dcoulier and I’ll be by your side through it all.”

Coulier shared the news during an interview on the Today show yesterday. The actor and comedian said that prior to the diagnosis, he felt under the weather for about a month before noticing a swollen lymph node in his groin. His doctor then ordered a series of tests, which came back normal. “Blood tests came back great. My EKG, everything great. Heart, everything perfect,” Coulier said.

However, the lump continued to swell, at which point the decision was made to both remove and biopsy the lump. A few days later, tests revealed that Coulier had B-cell lymphoma. “The first thing I said to them was, ‘Wait a minute — cancer?’” Coulier told Today, adding that he felt like “I got punched in the stomach because it never happens to you. You always hear about it happening to someone else.”

Coulier confirmed he has already begun chemotherapy and should complete his treatment by February 2025, noting that it’s “been a bit of a roller coaster.”

Stamos and Coulier starred alongside each other on Full House for nine years as Jesse Katsopolis and Joey Gladstone, the half-brother and childhood best friend of patriarch Danny Tanner, played by Bob Saget. Much of the cast has remained close since the series ended in 1995, especially after Saget’s sudden death in 2022.

Also following Saget’s death, Stamos was inspired to pen a memoir about his life and career. The memoir, If You Would Have Told Me, came out last year and chronicled the actor’s wide-ranging career in acting and music, as well as his efforts to get sober and start a family. In a statement, Stamos acknowledged that he never expected to write a memoir, saying it was Saget’s unexpected death earlier that helped change his mind.

“If You Would Have Told Me is the book I never planned to write, but after losing Bob, finally becoming a father, and wanting to honor all the colorful people who have made me who I am today, I figured if not now, when?” Stamos said.
