Rapper
Dave Blunts
' recent performance at Chicago’s United Center during the fourth annual
Juice WRLD Day
has become the talk of the town, but not for the right reasons.During the show, the 23-year-old rapper was seated on the stage, hooked to an oxygen tank, while performing. Davion Blessing, who goes by his stage name Dave Blunts, is estimated to weigh over 500 pounds, according to The US Sun.The video of the rapper performing has gone viral on the internet. While many lauded his talent, a giant section of the netizens also expressed their concerns about his health. An X user pointed out that the rapper is struggling to breathe. “This isn’t even about just being overweight, he cannot hard breathe because his body is suffocating him at this point. I hope he gets some help before too late. He’s got a great voice when he can use it,” the tweet reads.
“He's not going to make it another 5 years if he doesn't change something. Hoping he can get the help he needs,” another wrote.
A netizen stated that this condition shouldn’t arise at a time when Ozempic is taking over the world, “I feel like in this day of Ozempic, this should not even be a thing anymore.”
An X user expressed that it is ‘heartbreaking’ to watch. “This is absolutely heartbreaking to see. This man can't perform standing due to his health? His days are limited with the amount of visceral fat (fat surrounding his organs accelerates risk of death and disease). He needs to get healthy ASAP or he won't be performing at all. There's zero advantages to being overweight or obese. He's a great performer with an incredible talent and that talent will be cut short if he doesn't change his lifestyle. If his friends and family loved him they would halt his performances and focus on getting physically and mentally fit ASAP. He can afford the best trainers and nutritionists. This is not something people should take lately. And no, this is not me fat shaming him for any of the bigots out there. I simply care about people and it's really sad to see a human body being neglected like this especially one with such a beautiful voice. I've worked with kids and adults who have lost >150 lbs in some cases and their emotional state improves with the loss because they also did mental work too. Praying for Rapper Dave's health.”
Another said, “He needs professional help, where are the people showing him what to eat. He can change his body/health.”(Pic courtesy: Instagram/ iluvyoudaveblunts)
