IShowSpeed gets annihilated by UFC icon Dan Hooker after ...
Popular streamer IShowSpeed has been on a trip around New Zealand for the past few days and yesterday, dropped in on one of the best MMA gyms in the world, City Kickboxing.
Not long after the CKB stream went live, the internet icon would challenge UFC lightweight veteran Dan Hooker to a hard sparring session – and it’s safe to say that the ‘The Hangman’ didn’t pull his punches.
All credit to IShowSpeed, he might talk a big game for the cameras, but he’s always more than willing to back up his words; even if that means going toe-to-toe with someone who has 14 professional wins in the UFC octagon.
After a quick warm-up, Speed would challenge Hooker to a light sparring session – “Say less,” responded the Kiwi, with the danger that comes with facing The Hangman’s noose quickly dawning on the streamer.
“Yo, I don’t like this dude’s smile, I don’t like his attitude man.”
The streamer would hang with the #6 ranked UFC lightweight for the most part, although he was dropped with two nasty body shots pretty early into the first round.
Never one to back down, Speed would return for another several rounds of ‘light sparring’ and would only be dropped once more before fatigue began to set in.
“Alright, I think I’ve had enough, it was fun. That was fun, Ws in the chat,” an exhausted Speed told the camera.
REACTION: Dan Hooker slams Michael Chandler for his post-UFC 309 fight callout“Boxing’s fun but I feel like if I do this for like eight months, I could beat any boxers, it’s really just skills you got to learn,” he teased, before hugging it out with ‘The Hangman’.
“Good s*** bro, nah you a good a** fighter though – I could tell he was going easy on me.”
Again, all credit to Speed for toughing it out, “He’s the man,” celebrated Hooker.
When could we see Dan Hooker back in the UFC octagon?Dan Hooker is currently riding a three-fight winning streak, having returned to the octagon at UFC 305 with a highly impressive split decision win over Polish wrestler Mateusz Gamrot.
The UFC is actually set to return to Australia next February for a PPV event at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney; unfortunately, Hooker won’t be on that card as he and his partner are expecting the birth of their child that same month.
“I’m good to go in January or March,” Hooker told Helen Yee Sports in October.
“The missus is due [for a baby in] February, so no can go. I’ve got a little girl on the way… You’d even turn down a big fight with McGregor for [the birth of your child]. You’re not missing that. No panties are coming off in February.”
