Frontier Touring shocked concertgoers last night by surprise, announcing Childish Gambino’s first tour of Australia since his 2019 This Is America tour.

The rapper, singer, and actor brings his THE NEW WORLD TOUR to Australia and New Zealand in January and February 2025, performing at Auckland’s Spark Arena on Tuesday, 28 January, before heading to the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Saturday, 1 February, Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on Tuesday, 4 February, Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Friday, 7 February, and ends at Perth’s RAC Arena on Tuesday, 11 February – enough space for additional shows after this week’s pre-sale will be met with considerable demand.

Donald Glover will be joined by Ghanaian American pop phenom Amaarae on all dates, with this tour marking her first time performing for Australian fans.

Childish Gambino’s THE NEW WORLD TOUR arrives in support of ATAVISTA, released via Liberator Music (part of the Mushroom Group). The album is a newly reworked edition of Glover’s fourth album as Childish Gambino, 3.15.20 (or its “finished version”, as the artist puts it), which was surprise released yesterday with two new tracks, Atavista and Human Sacrifice.

Alongside the release, Glover teased that a brand new Childish Gambino album – supposedly the very last project he’ll release under the moniker, dubbed “a soundtrack for the fans” when he first spoke of it last month – will be released in the North American summer (winter for us Down Under).

American Express cardholders and fans who sign up to Childish Gambino’s THE NEW WORLD TOUR website will be the first to access pre-sale tickets on Thursday, 16 May.

For AMEX cardholders, the pre-sale will run for 48 hours (unless allocation is exhausted) and follow these timings: 9 am local time for the Sydney and Brisbane shows, 10 am for Perth, and noon local time for Melbourne and Auckland.

The Childish Gambino fan pre-sale will run for 45 hours, starting at 11 am for the Sydney and Brisbane concerts, 1 pm for Perth, 3 pm for Melbourne, and 2 pm for Auckland.

Frontier Members can access a 24-hour pre-sale on Friday, 17 May. Like the AMEX pre-sale timings, you can access pre-sale tickets at 9 am local time for Sydney and Brisbane, 10 am for Perth, and noon local time for Melbourne and Auckland.

If you’re not successful buying tickets in the pre-sales, the general sale opens on Monday, 20 May, with staggered timings once again. Sydney and Brisbane fans can purchase tickets at 11 am, as can Perth punters before the Melbourne general sale opens at 1 pm and Auckland at 2 pm.
