For many footballers, playing in the Champions League is the pinnacle.

Some of the greatest players of the game have graced its stage, but choosing a best XI from those is both subjective and difficult.

Using the criteria of having won the Champions League at least once in their careers, BBC Sport journalists have picked out some of the very best players in their respective positions to have played in European football's premier club competition.
