Celine Dion’s health condition continues to progress. Last year, the 55-year-old singer was diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder called stiff-person syndrome. Her sister (and a musician in her own right) Claudette Dion recently shared some new information on the pop icon's struggles with 7Jours magazine.

“She’s working hard, but she doesn’t have control over her muscles,” Claudette told the magazine, via translation from French. “That’s what really hurts, that she’s always been so disciplined. She’s always worked hard.”

She shared that it's still the Dion family's dream for Celine to once more return to the stage.

“But in what state? I don’t know,” she admitted. “The vocal cords are muscles, and so is the heart. That’s what gets me. Since it’s one case in millions, scientists haven’t done much research, because it hasn’t affected that many people.”

But Claudette also spoke about the outpouring of support and love they have received from fans since Celine’s diagnosis: “She’s received so many messages, presets, and prayers.”

Because of the ongoing health battle, Celine, unfortunately, had to cancel her world tour this past May. The “My Heart Will Go On” singer shared in a post then, “I’m so sorry to disappoint all of you once again. I’m working really hard to build back my strength, but touring can be very difficult even when you’re 100%.”

But she also left on a positive note: “I want you all to know, I’m not giving up... and I can’t wait to see you again!”
