Tom Wright stuck a dagger into Wales Rugby in the 68th minute after the Dragons had cut Australia's lead to just two points. 

The 26-year-old Brumbies star, in his 24th test match since 2020, had a breakaway try that helped put the Wallabies up by nine points with 12 minutes left in the match. It clinched Australia's first win of the year, 25-16 in Moore Park, Australia on July 6. 

It was also the first win for Australia's new coach Joe Schmidt, who took over for Eddie Jones earlier this year.

Wright, Noah Lolesio, Taniela Tupou and Filipo Daugunu carried Australia to win over a game Wales squad. 

The Dragons, who opened the summer test season with a loss to No. 1 South Africa in London, tied the match at 13 early in the second half. After a try in the 56 minute was wiped off the board, Wales used a Ben Thomas penalty kick to make it 18-16 before Wright's decisive try.

Filipo Daugunu broke away for a massive try against Wales as the Wallabies broke a 13-13 try in the 51st minute of the match.

Wales evened the match against the Wallabies with a Ben Thomas penalty kick in the 45th minute.
