Tom Wright stuck a dagger into Wales Rugby in the 68th minute after the Dragons had cut Australia's lead to just two points.
The 26-year-old Brumbies star, in his 24th test match since 2020, had a breakaway try that helped put the Wallabies up by nine points with 12 minutes left in the match. It clinched Australia's first win of the year, 25-16 in Moore Park, Australia on July 6.
It was also the first win for Australia's new coach Joe Schmidt, who took over for Eddie Jones earlier this year.
