Yeah...no. Origins was good, as it was the introduction of this new "RPG" style of AC, and it only really had one protagonist (Bayek), aside from the one-time switch to his wife's perspective (the worst part of the game by far, as she's a much less interesting character, and gameplay-wise she lacks many upgrades the player's unlocked for Bayek, so she's weaker than him - so what was the point in making her playable? Still don't get it; pointless).

Odyssey was much worse as it tried to implement modern "equality" standards into ancient Greece - yeah, no, there would never have been a female mercenary back then, so the female PC makes no sense, nor does the litany of female enemy mercs/soldiers (or politicians, for that matter).

I never played Valhalla, but as I understand Viking culture, only men were really able to be soldiers (like most pre-modern cultures), and from the SkillUp Valhalla review the game's bloated content-wise, so...bleh.

And then this, where the player will likely be forced to switch between the two protags at certain points in the story - just like in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, probably - in which case...will upgrades and gear carry over? Will each character have their own skill tree and equipment? What about if the forced female PC isn't as fun to play as, due to having a stereotypical "strong female character" characterisation or lacklustre controls or mechanics? Again, yeah...no. I'll stick with Ghost of Tsushima, if that's fine with Ubisoft; that's an actually-fantastic open-world samurai-Japan game.

I loved AC1 (yes, the very old one). But even AC2 already killed me. I can't really tell why. It didn't get me hooked. While I love the open world in BotW and TotK, it's kinda overwhelming in the later AC games. It was more like "I have to play AC2 today to get through it" rather then "Man, I can't wait to play AC2!". Somehow Ubisoft drops open world games each year without them being appealing at all. They don't know how to make the world interesting and give it magic. Maybe it's just me but Assassin's Creed is no longer for me.

"Open world" is the flavor of the week, you have to have "open world" because all your friends are doing it. Every new game has to have an open world, crafting, and RPG elements / skill tree, no matter how little sense it makes.

With all the fucking collectables, and giant empty maps, it feels like a chore getting through the game. Also, I refuse to support any online only single player games. lol

Cool, another "Always Online" game they will kill in 10 years just like The Crew. Oh and they're already starting from the onset with wokeness & DEI galore (for funding, of course, gotta get that sweet BlackRock and Vanguard money, right Upissoft?) + microtransactions... Yeah, as is tradition for the past Assassins Creed games since Black Flag: PAAAAASSSS

Also, for those of you who wish to finally put an end to this nightmare with Ubisoft and other game developers killing games instead of helping preserve them, here: https://www.stopkillinggames.com/ I myself have already done all possible things on that list I can in my country, as I am someone who owned "The Crew". If you owned it, you should too. We can only change the gaming industry by legislating against this crap, and so every single oppositional force helps.
