Kansas 5-year-old found safe after mother stabbed during dispute ...

WICHITA, Kan. (Gray News) - Police in Kansas have canceled an Amber Alert after a 5-year-old boy they believed to be in imminent danger was found safe.

The Wichita Police Department said the boy was forcibly taken from his mother by his father on Wednesday afternoon.

Officers say the father, armed with a gun and a knife, stabbed the child’s mother and threatened to kill the child during a domestic dispute.

Police say the suspect took the child and left in a vehicle, but the vehicle was later found nearby.

Officers later said the child had been found safe but offered no other details.
