Amber Alert canceled after Wichita boy found safe

UPDATE: At 8:49 p.m., authorities canceled the Amber Alert and said the 5-year-old boy was found safe.

WICHITA, Kan. (KCTV) - An Amber Alert has been issued for a missing 5-year-old boy from Wichita, Kansas.

Police told the Kansas Bureau of Investigation that Trevawn Strong Jr. was forcibly taken from his mother by his father, Trevawn Strong Sr. using a knife and firearm during a domestic incident at their Wichita home. It happened just before 5 p.m.

Authorities said Trevawn Jr. is in imminent danger.

The suspect left in a vehicle but that vehicle was recovered in the 1900 block of N. Woodlawn in Wichita, Kansas.

Authorities ask anyone who sees the missing child or suspect to call 911. If you have other information on the missing child, call 911 or 316-383-4661.
