Britain's Got Talent judge, Amanda Holden, at 53 and a mother of three, is the very model of self-care finesse. Despite a packed agenda, she consistently carves out time for R&R and swears by an arsenal of products and habits to keep her wellness and beauty in check.
Opening up about her approach, Amanda once shared: "I'm a fan of various creams and potions, too, and lots of water (and wine! ), but really I think it's down to genetics. I'm up for anything, though nothing invasive." Yet, beyond proper hydration and a genetic jackpot, Amanda attributes her svelte figure and vibrant skin to a set list of 10 specific practices that ensure her sparkle doesn't dim.
A significant element of her fitness regime is yoga, which became her solace during some life's profound challenge. Recovering from the loss of her son at seven months pregnant, and a harrowing birth experience with her daughter Hollie, Amanda found sanctuary in yoga.

She explained how crucial it was in her journey back to health: "I'm so grateful to my body after what it has been through. I got into yoga because after Hollie was born I'd been on a ventilator and I had a lot of lung problems. Kundalini yoga is all about breath work, so I took it on to build my strength. A lot of people advised me to do it for calmness, too. I don't really sit still, I'm always on the go," reports the Express.
She also highlighted the physical perks, stating: "The chanting is really fun, but it's tough. There's one exercise called the Breath of Fire which is great for abs. But it's also a good pick-me-up when you're tired – honestly, it's better than a cup of coffee. My body got strong and any excess fat disappeared. It's definitely made my tummy flatter."
Moreover, Amanda is passionate about running and has taken on several high-endurance challenges, including reaching the peak of Snowdon in 2022. When it comes to wellness therapies, Amanda has ventured into trying the SLIMYONIK fat reduction system at D. Thomas Specialist Skin Clinic in London—a non-invasive technique utilising a state-of-the-art BodyStyler suit designed to provide pressure massages that aid in lymphatic drainage, a process she's shared online.
While beauty treatments can be expensive affairs, with personal sessions at the clinic costing approximately £100 each and generally necessitating a series of at least four appointments, don't dismay, beauty aficionados—there's a budget-friendly solution that could spare your wallet.
At home, there are alternative methods like gua sha stones or just regular hand movements you can employ for manual lymphatic drainage, handy for clearing the lingering fluids and inflammation around lymph nodes.
Regarding her diet, Amanda has achieved an enviable silhouette without subscribing to radical eating regimes, instead adopting balanced and realistic nutritional choices.
Amanda Holden, speaking candidly to the Daily Mail, shared: "You have to enjoy life. I had a friend once who didn't make it to her 50s and her biggest regret was that she spent her life on a diet. I think a little bit of everything is fine."
Holden, emphasising full enjoyment of life, remarked, "Life's too short to do fat-free, sugar-free, alcohol-free. I don't believe in half-fat anything, I have full-fat yoghurt, butter and cheese. And I splurge on the weekends. I love wine."
She also mentioned her long-standing commitment to a vegetarian lifestyle since she was 13 after understanding what meat entailed and not wanting to cause harm to animals.
Known for her indulgences in moderation, Amanda has also given insight into her detox routine which she undertakes annually before filming begins. She chooses Portugal for these pre-show retreats and likens the routine to rejuvenating her mental state: "It's really good for your mindset, rather like unplugging your computer and plugging it back in."
Amanda Holden has revealed she goes on wellness retreats twice a year to detox and prepare for the demanding Britain's Got Talent live shows. She told Hello!
: "I try to detox twice a year for health benefits, one of them being before the BGT live shows. I'm used to it now so don't experience any bad side effects. I really feel a great benefit. My skin glows, eyes are brighter and there is some weight loss but the most important thing is my mental state."
Amanda has also ditched botox for more subtle "tweakments", instead opting for treatments like CollagenWave facials and Morpheus8 with her go-to beauty expert Nilam Holmes.
She recently shared her glowing review of Morpheus8 on social media, saying: "The other week before filming started on the @bgt live shows, Nilam suggested I try a new natural treatment called Morpheus8 ! The results have been absolutely amazing. I've noticed a real plumpness to my skin and it's much tighter! " CollagenWave is touted as a natural substitute for anti-wrinkle injections and fillers, albeit with a significant cost of about £130 per session, and typically a series of six sessions is suggested to achieve optimal outcomes. On the other hand, Morpheus8 merges radio frequency with micro-needling to diminish fine lines and scarring – yet this distinctive blend requires a more substantial financial commitment, with prices for individual treatments ranging from £500 to £2,000.
Liquid collagen forms an integral part of Amanda's daily regimen; she devoutly uses Revive Collagen, a liquid collagen supplement she attributes as the secret to her radiant skin and lustrous hair. The BGT star has been an outspoken supporter of the product, frequently extolling its virtues.
Her enthusiastic endorsement reads: "I also won't go without my daily dose of Revive Collagen – it's my beauty essential which keeps my hair, skin and nails looking and feeling their best. It really helps with the thickness of my hair and strengthening my nails, plus it makes my skin more glowy. For me, it's as obvious as putting on mascara! ". Banish the toxicity.
Amanda Abbington is on a personal mission to purify her lifestyle – cutting out not just junk food and bad habits but also eliminating negative vibes. Speaking exclusively to the Daily Express, Amanda revealed: "I don't deny myself anything. I think being happy and confident shines. I've got good people around me, I surround myself with good people, and I put my energy into the people who deserve it. I don't try to people please as much as I did anymore."
"I think all of that really helps you feel confident and helps the glow. If you feel good on the inside you will feel good on the outside."
The actress treats herself to luxurious skincare routines, including gold facials she discovered at TheLifeCo – surprisingly affordable at just €90.
Her wellbeing practices don't stop there; she indulges in a mix of treatments from deep cleansing and ultrasonic exfoliation to massage, oxygen therapy, and a plant-collagen application, all rounded off by a sumptuous gold mask.
Amanda’s health regime extends to regular intimate moments with her husband, Chris Hughes. As a radio presenter, she's candid about their private life, divulging on Lorraine how they spice up their relationship, including the occasional use of adult toys.
Chatting about Ann Summers parties, Amanda playfully informed viewers: "I think I can say that we all know what we're talking about. It's early morning and there are children at home but everyone's got a magic box in their house, somewhere. Full of everything."
Despite her hectic schedule, Amanda always makes time for her family, even if it means doing everyday tasks - something she found especially pertinent during the 2020 pandemic. Speaking to QVC, Amanda revealed how much she enjoys her home life, saying: "I work often, and so much of it is away from home, so I've really enjoyed being around, cooking from scratch, having the time to do things like cleaning out cupboards and organising stuff! We've also redone our garden and it's starting to look wonderful. A staycation is definitely more appealing now! I've stayed positive by thinking of all the good stuff, like us being together and enjoying good health."
She continued, "Spending more time at home recently, I have enjoyed rosé, eating in the garden, making cakes and allowing myself a few extra calories as a special treat! Factoring in a daily run has made that all guilt-free in my mind."
