Amanda Bynes was detained by the Los Angeles Police Department on Saturday and evaluated for mental health, according to several reports.
On Monday, the Los Angeles Times reported that the department referred the former child star, 37, for evaluation and treatment, stating this was confirmed by a "law enforcement source with knowledge of the case."
This follows a pair of photos posted Saturday by TMZ, showing Bynes being intercepted by police and being led to a patrol car in handcuffs. According to the outlet, police were responding to a call regarding a woman in distress. Bynes was reportedly taken to the police station where a medical unit performed an evaluation.
The Messenger has reached out to a representative for Bynes, who did not respond for comment.
The reported detainment comes just three months after she had been already struggling with mental health issues.
On March 19, Bynes was reportedly spotted walking through downtown Los Angeles without clothes. She allegedly flagged down a car, then called 911 of her own accord, and was taken to a police station, where it was reportedly determined she required to be put on an involuntary hold for a mental health crisis.
